Rapid Prototyping and Modelmaking are the 3D visualization and functional test tools of the product designer. Rapid Prototyping is a term used to describe state of the art CAD/CAM (computer-aided design & computer-aided machining) technologies, particularly SLA 's.
From simple mock-ups to proof-of-principle models to working prototypes, our modeling services give shape to your ideas. Our philosophy is to go 3D as much as possible and as soon as possible. During the product development process, models are essential tools for evoking and evaluating customer response to a particular design concept, functional layout, or ergonomic interaction. WD offers complete high quality appearance and marketing models. These models are often used in promotional photography prior to the product being manufactured. The marketing or appearance model is typically a non functioning color mock-up of the proposed design. Due to costs of tooling, a Client may request an appearance model to get final approvals from the management team prior to proceeding to tooling. With the help of Prototyping, your product is no longer just a concept.
