WhiteLight Design has invested heavily in keeping ahead in the latest available CAD –CAE – CAM capabilities and technologies. Your product design will be modeled and verified in the 3D virtual environment. You may view your product from any angle or magnification, and then explode the full assembly into the individual parts and components with a bill of materials (BOM) with material specifications and manufacturing process selection. The power of the system is that you may also perform advanced simulated material, mold and manufacturing analyses, using special additions to the base CAD packages. WD assists Clients in creating and developing full production level documentation packages, following through to generate proof of concept, working or marketing appearance prototypes, pilot production runs and production start-up. WhiteLight Design utilizes a stable of CAD software platforms including Rhino®, ProE® and SolidWorks®. The value of CAD is undeniably "speed to market", complimented by the industrial design, (styling and human factors), engineering and manufacturing development process, CAD – CAE – CAM is the most powerful and economical way to explore, model, prototype and validate design and deliver enlightened solutions.

CAD Development Process (SDP)

3D Computer-Aided Design (3DCAD) is the main geometry, virtual authoring tool within product development and production manufacturing. The 3D CAD Product Development System and Product Lifecycle Management processes utilize both dedicated 3D CAD software and hardware. The entire system is centered on the binary CAD data that is exported and imported from program to program - designer to engineer to prototyper to tooler to manufacturer to packager. Practical application of 3D CAD data can be utilization to construct complex electronic and mechanical mechanisms (simple machines that make larger more complex machines operate), perform 3D part mechanical assembly and mechanism modeling, tolerance and fit checks, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Rapid Prototyping (RP - CNC, SLA, SLS), and Computer-Aided Machining (CAM), for machine – mold, die, tool or part creation, defining tool paths and cutting rate speeds, for creating tooling cavities and cores, manufacturing robotics assembly control, part inspection, etc. The process of CAD - CAE - CAM development allows the entire invention - product development process to be managed from concept to production assembly line robotics, including resource allocations, manpower management and fulfillment, minimizing costs, cycle time and reworks.

    WhiteLight Design and its associates have invested in keeping pace with the latest available CAE Computer-Aided Engineering predictive analysis, software programs and hardware platforms. CAE is the use of CAD information such as 3D virtual models for supporting Engineers in tasks such as design validation, structural analysis, dynamic simulation, complex assembly design and manufacturing automation, including planning, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair. CAE software tools can analyze the composition, robustness and performance of materials, components and assemblies. It can provide virtual simulation, validation and optimization of products and manufacturing tooling dat which is then compared against the real world to continually build a data base of predicable materials and dynamic simulation properties. CAE allows you to maximize design confidence, reduce need for expensive prototypes and compress the development cycle time.

    CAM, Computer-Aided Manufacturing and Computer Controlled Numerical Machining use the computer-based CAD and CAE software tools to produce the virtual three dimensional (3D) solid modeling data that assists our Industrial Designers, Engineers, and Machinists in manufacturing or prototyping product components from raw materials. CAM is an automated programming tool that allows the machine operator to perform automated, machine assisted cut, drill, rout or bend or form simple or complex machining or manufacturing operations based on the CAD model data, CAD CAM - CNC are the advanced authoring tools that focuses all of our knowledge and experience into a focused beam of rapid product development services.

    Rapid Prototyping

    Modelmaking and Rapid Prototyping are the 3D visualization and functional test tools of the Product Designer and Engineer. Modelmaking is referred to when we go 3D or three dimensional. It may be in cardboard or it may be molded urethane, the art of and now science of model making is about craftsmanship. Rapid Prototyping is a term used to describe state of the art CAD/CAM (computer-aided design & computer-aided machining or modeling) technologies, particularly Stereolithography
